Kick-Off Weekend for the
41 INTERNATIONAL AGM 2027 in Hamburg
July 18th – 20th, 2027
Kick-off for the 41 INTERNATIONAL AGM 2027 in Hamburg
A major event requires a long preparation period – and this is even more true for a large international event. Now that Old Tablers Germany (OTD) has successfully applied to host the 41 INTERNATIONAL AGM 2027, the concrete planning phase can begin. The date has already been set 29 April – 2 May 2027.
The AGM is traditionally held in jointly with the Tangent Club International AGM and the Agora Club International HYM – an international highlight organised in close cooperation with the host country and host city.
The weekend of 18–20 July 2025 was the ideal date for the kick-off. Many influential Old Tablers and Ladies were in Hamburg at that time – including at the summer party of OT 684 St. Pauli, which took place at the same time.
Under the leadership of OTD Past President Carsten Conrad and OTD Secretary Matti Kampen, four Hamburg tables were successfully recruited to jointly plan and implement the AGM. In addition, the participation and support of Agora Club Tangent Germany (ACT) was also secured.
The tables involved are:
- OT 28 Harburg
- OT 100 Hamburg
- OT 169 Hamburg-Hafen
- OT 684 St. Pauli
They are supported by ACT Germany Past President Nicole Blaase (ACT 10 Hamburg).

A strong team – clear distribution of roles
A central topic at the kick-off was the question: ‘Who is in charge?’
For a project of this magnitude, a clear leadership duo is crucial – both internally for the organisation and externally as contact persons. The choice of the team fell on:
- • Matti Kampen as Convenor
- • Carsten Conrad as Co-Convenor
Both are experienced Tablers members with great organisational talent – a strong combination to lead this international event.

The challenges: Think big, act early
The AGM 2027 will bring together participants from all over the world. Three international associations – one event. It is already clear that up to 1,000 guests are expected. Hotels and venues must be booked and logistical details clarified accordingly early on.
During the kick-off weekend and already at the summer party of OT 684 St. Pauli, intensive discussions took place, and many fundamental points were discussed. Our special thanks go to Jürgen Zwibel from OT684 St.Pauli for his generous hospitality – both at the summer party and for providing his apartment for the official kick-off meeting.

Motivated and ready – the starting signal has been given
The team is highly motivated – the planning phase begins now!
It was a great weekend in Hamburg with many wonderful impressions and encounters. But the most important thing was seeing and talking to many friends from OTD and ACT again.
Yours in Table,
Robert
