Together We Shall Lead … Through Friendship and Fellowship [Bruce McKay]

Dear 41 Club members, Tablers and all our Friends,

This will be the first of many communications to all of you and as President of our international association.

I am sure that by now you are all back at home safely after visiting our beautiful country, South Africa. I am pleased to report that I have only received fantastic comments from all who have been here, from the pre-tours, to the conference weekend and post tour to Cape Town. I must thank John, David, Zeet and Tania who formed the core organizing committee for all their dedication and hard work to make the AGM 2017 a huge success.

Then of course there is Andre de Villiers the President of the 41’ers Association of Southern Africa and his team that assisted wherever they could and gave us their full support during the weeks leading up to the AGM.

But the greatest thanks must go to all of you that attended the conference and AGM, because without you it could never have been the success that it was.

With all the above said, it is now time to hit the ground running and this weekend we already have 3 association AGM’s taking place. It is unfortunately not possible for me to start travelling before 08 June 2017 due to work commitments but I will be sure to send a message to all the countries having their AGM’s during May. One important fact all associations need to look at is when they schedule their AGMs as it becomes increasingly difficult to attend all the AGMs especially if there are 3 or so on the same weekend. I would like to believe that all countries have the same level of importance within our association and me as the President and I am sure future Presidents would like to visit as many AGMs as possible.

What does 2017 hold for us, well naturally we will be continuing the great work of the last 3 to 4 years and ensure that the growth and maintenance of our wonderful association continues. I believe as all those before me that we need to remain relevant in order to survive and we need to ensure that we are attractive to our Tablers and so there will be a questionnaire drafted and sent to all associations and members very soon, for comments and I trust that we will have a great response as we all make up and are responsible for the growth and future existence of our association. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you during the next year.
