We are having a zoom meet on September 20, 2020 for all the delegates of member countries, and floor members on the following topics;

1 The election of VP elect should be one year prior to the post, and not as two years at present. Anchored by Tom/Barry. At the moment, in Verona we will elect someone to be:

Second Vice President Elect for2021/2 (Luca’s year) – with no voting rights or attendance at Board Meetings – who will be

Second Vice President for 2022/3 (Tom’s year) – with no voting rights and optional attendance at Board Meetings – who will be

Vice President for 2023/4 (Barry’s year) – with voting rights – who will be President for 2024/5

This is far too much lead up. After you are elected, you do absolutely nothing for the first year. Just wait.

Previously when we elected the country first and then later the country nominated their candidate, there was 6 months less.

Countries elect their Prime Ministers with often no notice, it is just not necessary to have 3 full years notice before you are President of 41 INTERNATIONAL.

The Board is therefore considering having no election for Second Vice President Elect in Verona, moving on to an election for Second Vice in Bergen. This would still be in line with section 5A of the rules shown below and would mean that the new Second Vice President would take office immediately the election had taken place.

There is actually nothing in the rules about us having or needing a Second Vice President, so there is a argument to say we should elect a Vice President who would take office immediately. We think this last option a bit radical, so we are just suggesting the election should be for a Second Vice President.

2 Lets make a Tabler this will be anchored by President Luc. Due to the covid crisis, many RT clubs have held fewer physical meetings making it more difficult for them to invite new guests and prospective members into their clubs. RT will need more support from us, ex-tablers with experience to help them grow.

The “Make a Tabler” programme started last year continues this year and the next. In the forum, recipes about how to bring young men to Round Table will be presented and exchanged. If your associations is currently planning a local strategy, you will be welcome to say a word about it.
